Laura Tyler spends her time making art and keeping honeybees. Her work explores plant and animal forms in a multimedia practice that includes encaustic painting, drawing and documentary filmmaking. She is the producer and director of the documentary film, Sister Bee and co-founder of the honey company, Backyard Bees, LLC. She attended college at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri and the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston earning a BFA from the latter in 1993. In 1994 she moved to Boulder, Colorado with her husband where they live and work today. She was raised in Auburn, Maine. |
