Laura Tyler is a contemporary artist and part-time beekeeper. She was born in Dover, New Hampshire and raised in Auburn, Maine. Her work explores plant and animal forms in a multimedia practice that includes documentary film and video, encaustic painting and drawing. She attended college at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri and the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston, Massachusetts - earning a BFA from the latter in 1993. Thereafter, she moved to Boulder, Colorado where she lives and works today.
