Encaustic paint has extraordinary plasticity and transformative qualities that make it appealing to collage artists and printmakers as well as traditional painters. I teach private and group workshops in encaustic painting to beginning and experienced artists. My teaching style is nurturing and informative.

Beginning Encaustic
Learn basics of encaustic painting in a playful, hands-on workshop. Topics include:
- Hands-on fun with encaustic paint
- The tools and equipment of encaustic painting
- Supplies, where and what to buy
- Transparency, texture and transformation
- Health and safety in the encaustic studio
This introductory class is appropriate for beginning and experienced artists. Each student will have the opportunity to work on three encaustic paintings.

Encaustic Intensive for Artists
This information-intensive workshop is taught in two ninety minute sessions. It’s ideal for experienced artists who’d like to get setup for encaustic painting in their own studios quickly, economically and safely. Topics include:
- Beeswax – where it comes from and why it’s special
- The history of encaustic painting
- Heath and safety in the encaustic studio
- How to make your own encaustic medium
- The tools and equipment of encaustic painting
- Outfitting your studio
- Hands-on fun with encaustic paint
