Ferns and Labyrinths
These tender little yearners were inspired by labyrinths. I spent a lot of time looking at labyrinths, roots and branches while making them. If you look closely you can see miniature labyrinths embedded in the unfurled fronds of "Blue Fern" and "Joyful Plant."

Cities and Gardens
Cities and gardens are wondrous environments made by humans for the expression and comfort of human life. Honeybees make cities too. The imaginary cities and gardens you see here were inspired by street maps and the wax cities made by bees.

Twigs and Berries
These ten-inch square paintings are cut from larger works. They started out as an attempt to capture the warm energy of berries or buds clustered on a twig. In the process of cutting my buds and berries became landscapes. I love the idea that the curve of a berry or edge of a twig can become an entire horizon depending on how you look at it.
