Sister Bee Premieres Tonight November 15, 2006 12:03 pm
Sister Bee

SISTER BEE premieres in Boulder tonight. I’ve been looking forward to this event for… gosh, who knows how long? It’s not just the screening I’m looking forward to. But the experience of sharing SISTER BEE with the communities integral to its making. This is an event where beekeepers can come together with filmmakers, artists, and musicians to share in an experience of relevance to all.

The screening will be preceded by a performance by The Flowering Bones Vocal Ensemble and followed by Q & A with the beekeepers. An after-party will top things off featuring a live performance by singer, songwriter Diane French. Both the Flowering Bones and Diane French contributed powerful, distinctive music to SISTER BEE and I’m honored they’re participating in tonight’s event.

It took five years to complete SISTER BEE. Tonight marks its coming-out. I’m ready to celebrate.

Laura, I attended your premiere last night and spoke with you a few minutes prior to the start. I am just so thrilled for everyone who had a part in this! The film hits the mark in every way — a perfect blend of practical information and sweet, sweet tickles for the soul and funny bone. Pure and honest and richly layered and nourishing — in short, a honey of a film! Expect a lot of buzz once the word gets out. Bravo.
